Information about the specific ministry we do.

Hi Everyone,

We have been asked to give more information on this blog about the specific ministry Nate and I do here in the Philippines.

Though Global Impact works on several different fronts, Nate and I serve mainly within one area: Ministry and Church Assistance.

We work with leaders and missionaries of existing ministries to help refresh, encourage and strengthen them.

We  help serve  a church in a muslim squatter community through teaching and prayer and leading bible study during the week.

Nate has a heart of compassion for broken and hurting men, families and children. He often shares his testimony of how God rescued his life from alcohol, drugs and anger. Rev.12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony...

My (Kelly) main focus of ministry is prayer. Personal Prayer ministry. Emotional healing. Jesus came to heal the broken hearted and to set the captives free.
(Luke 4:18) I love to see this happen first hand through Theophostic Prayer ministry.
On Tuesday mornings I lead an intercessory prayer group and oversee the Wednesday morning service for leaders of a local children's ministry.

We also help serve in community outreach in various ways. We will continue to share more information and photos of the work we are doing as we continue to blog.

The following will focus on one area of ministry assistance  that Nate does on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Helping an existing children's ministry that reaches thousands of impoverished, at-risk kids.

The kids start arriving by jeepnee.

Kids arrive by trycicad, a bike with extra seats attached. 7 to 10 can ride at a time.

As they enter the huge circus tent, they are greeted with love.
As the kids arrive, Nate greets them and looks into their eyes, smiles and gives them juice and hot bread along with other volunteers. He tries to love each one he sees with a word, a smile and the food. To let them know he cares. To let them know that they are very important and the God loves them very much. It is one of Nate's favorite times of ministering.

Sweet faces of some of the youngest that are ministered to. The kids love to have Nate pick them up and love on them or several will climb up in his lap and and rest against him. He holds them and quietly prays for them. They love the time and attention Nate gives them.

For some, the hot bread and juice they get here will be their only meal that day.

Nate's heart breaks for the kids and their needs.

Nate, along with giving lots of attention and love to the kids, also helps out with security and crowd control.

It is wonderful how involved the kids are and so responsive. Through out the crowd they are yelling out their memory verses. It is music to the ears! There are about 6000 kids that are reached in 2 services on the weekends. And all under a huge circus tent. Even though the needs can be  overwhelming at times, serving the kids is one thing
Nate loves most on the mission field here in the Philippines. And we thank God for this opportunity to be a part of helping spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to whom ever He sends us to. We thank God that someone did it for us. It has made all the difference in our lives and we pray it will in theirs too.
